Sri Lanka defeat India by 51 runs

Sri Lanka defeated India by 51 runs in the eighth match of Commonwealth Bank Series at Brisbane Cricket Ground on Tuesday. 



Sri Lanka defeated India by 51 runs in the eighth match of Commonwealth Bank Series at Brisbane Cricket Ground on Tuesday.

Thishara Perera bowled brilliantly and picked up four wickets while Nuwan Kulasekara and Lasith Malinga grabbed three and two wickets respectively.
No Indian batsmen except Virat Kholi and Ifran Pathan resisted the Lankan bowlers. Kholi made 66 runs while Pathan scored 47 runs.
Little master Sachin Tendulkar again failed to complete the ton of his centuries and was managed to scored just 22 runs.
Earlier, Sri Lanka won the toss and opted to bat first. They put 289 runs on the score board, and set 290 target before team India to win the match.
Sri Lanka middle order batsman Lahiru Thirimanne scored 66 runs while Tilikaratne Dilshan made 51 runs. Angelo Mathews scored 49 runs not out whereas Mahela Jayawardene made 45 runs.
Irfan Pathan and Ravichandran Ashwin got two wickets each while Umesh Yadav and Suresh Raina shared one wicket each.
Kulasekara was declared player of the match.
